1. Who we are

Future Map AI is a career guidance platform for students in Class 9 to 12 in India, operated by TBD, with its registered office at TBD.

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean that entity. "You" means the parent or guardian who holds the account. "Your child" or "the student" means the student whose profile is created.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here.

2. Our approach, in one paragraph

We collect what we need to produce a career report, and nothing beyond it. We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with colleges, coaching institutes, publishers or advertisers. We do not run behavioural advertising to students. You can see everything we hold, correct it, or delete all of it at any time.

3. What we collect

Account information

  • Parent or guardian name and email address
  • Parent or guardian mobile number, used to verify parental consent
  • Student's first name and class
  • City

Consent records

  • The mobile number that received the verification code, confirmation that it was verified, the date and time, the IP address, and the version of this policy shown at that moment

Assessment data

  • Responses to the 137 assessment questions
  • Completion progress and time taken

Academic information, where you choose to provide it

  • Mark sheets for the previous two academic years
  • Subjects studied and grades obtained

Parent observation inputs, where you choose to provide them

  • Responses to nine structured questions about your child's work habits, focus and observed interests

Counselling records, where you book a session

  • Session notes and the written action plan prepared afterwards

Payment information

  • Transaction records and payment status. Card and bank details are handled entirely by our payment gateway and are never stored on our systems.

Technical information, on our public pages only

  • Device type, browser, and approximate location derived from IP address
  • Pages visited, where you have consented to analytics cookies

4. Why we collect it

We process personal data on the basis of consent given by a parent or guardian, for these purposes:

  • To generate your child's career assessment report
  • To improve the accuracy of that report when academic and observation data is added
  • To prepare for and deliver a counselling session, where booked
  • To create and manage your account
  • To verify parental consent, and to keep a record that it was given
  • To process payments
  • To answer your questions and provide support
  • To send service communications about your account and your report

We retain transaction records for a longer period because tax and company law requires it.

We do not process any data for behavioural advertising, marketing profiling, or the building of advertising audiences.

5. Who we share it with

Counsellors.Where you book a session, the assigned counsellor is given access to that student's report and profile. Counsellors are bound by written confidentiality obligations and can access only the students assigned to them.

Technology service providers. Our hosting, database, email and payment providers process data on our instructions, under contract, as Data Processors. They may not use it for their own purposes.

Automated analysis. Generating the report involves automated analysis. Where any third-party service is involved in that processing, it is engaged under contractual terms that prohibit the use of our data to train or improve their systems.

Professional advisers and authorities, where we are legally required to disclose.

We do not share personal data with colleges, universities, coaching institutes, test preparation companies, publishers, data brokers or advertisers. We do not sell personal data under any circumstances, to anyone.

6. Schools

Where a student accesses Future Map AI through their school, the school may receive that student's individual report and cohort-level analytics for its grade. The school is a separate Data Fiduciary for the data it receives and is responsible for how it handles it. We obtain parental consent before any student's assessment begins, whether or not the school is involved.

7. Where your data is stored

Personal data is stored on servers located in India. Where any processing takes place outside India, it is carried out only in jurisdictions not restricted by the Central Government under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and under contractual safeguards requiring an equivalent standard of protection.

8. How long we keep it

  • Assessment data and reports: three years from the date of your last account activity
  • Counselling records: three years from the date of the session
  • Account information: for as long as your account is active, and thirty days after you close it
  • Consent records: for as long as we hold the data they relate to
  • Transaction records: eight years, as required by Indian tax and company law

At the end of these periods we delete the data or irreversibly anonymise it. You may request deletion at any time before then.

9. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and your child, and how we process it
  • Correct anything inaccurate, and complete anything incomplete
  • Erase personal data that is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for
  • Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it
  • Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity
  • Complain to us, and afterwards to the Data Protection Board of India

The first four can be exercised directly from your account settings. Withdrawing consent deletes your child's assessment data and ends our ability to provide the service. There is no penalty for doing so.

10. Grievance Officer

In accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and the Information Technology Rules, our Grievance Officer is:

  • Name: TBD
  • Email: TBD
  • Address: TBD

We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and resolve it within 30 days.

11. Security

We maintain security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of what we hold: encryption of data in transit and at rest, role-based access controls so that counsellors see only their assigned students, access logging, and periodic review of our practices.

No system is entirely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and every affected user, in the manner and within the timelines the law requires.

12. Children

Every student on Future Map AI is a child under Indian law. A separate page sets out in plain language how we handle children's data and how parental consent works. Please read it alongside this policy: Children's Data & Parental Consent.

In summary: accounts are held and controlled by a parent or guardian, verifiable parental consent is obtained by mobile verification before any assessment begins, and we do not carry out behavioural tracking or targeted advertising directed at students.

13. Changes

We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. Where a change is material, we will notify account holders by email and, where the law requires it, ask for consent again.
